Scarify and aerate
Autumn is the best time to remove thatch and spike the lawn — it relieves compaction and lets air, water and feed reach the roots before winter.
Clear fallen leaves regularly
A thick layer of wet leaves left on the lawn blocks light and encourages fungal disease — rake or blow them off every week or so as they fall.
Overseed thin or bare patches
Cooler, damper autumn weather is the most reliable time of year for grass seed to germinate, without the risk of it scorching in summer heat.
Cut a little higher as growth slows
Raising the mower height for the last few cuts of the year leaves the grass slightly longer, which copes better with autumn's shorter days and lower light.

Every visit is carried out by an experienced, friendly and fully insured member of our team.
What's included in a typical maintenance visit?
It depends on what your garden needs at that time of year, but a typical visit covers mowing and edging, weeding borders and general tidying — with hedge trimming, pruning and seasonal jobs added in as they come up through the year.
Do I need to be at home while you work?
No — most of our regular clients aren't home during visits. We agree access with you in advance and let ourselves in and out, leaving everything tidy and secure behind us.
